Prana's Neo Natural Yoga Mat is eco friendly and luxuriously thick. It's made of cotton and natural rubber and is completely non toxic and biodegradable. It's a huge difference from the thin sticky mats, this stays in place, even on carpet. Very comfortable mat! It's heavy, and it does off gas a rubber odor for the first few uses, but it is not toxic and will dissapate. I find it solid and supportive and think it's a great mat.

AURORAE YOGI TIPS
· Wash your mat down with a soft brush and a tablespoon of dish washing liquid or detergent then rinse off. Do this in the shower if you can't do outside then hang over shower rod to dry. Repeat if necessary.
· Hang dry outside in the sun if possible. DO NOT PUT IN DRYER. Your mat must be absolutely dry before use.
· To keep your mat clean and fresh, spray Aurorae Yoga Mat Wash directly onto mat and let soak then wipe dry. Do as needed after use.
This will disinfect, restore and keep your mat fresh and clean.
· Wash your hands with soap and water before class to reduce any natural oils in your hands.
· Do not use creams or oils on your hands or feet before your practice.
· Always keep a cotton towel* (available by Aurorae) near you to wipe away any perspiration.
· If necessary use an Aurorae Yoga Rosin Bag to absorb any perspiration and increase gripping power.

I purchased this mat about two weeks ago on ebay and am really glad with my purchase. The mat is the perfect amount of cushion and doesn't stretch. There is only a very faint plastic smell and I expect that this will entirely go away in time as it is quite faint. I was hoping that I wouldn't need a yogitoes for this mat but you do slip a decent amount on this mat when sweaty. I know they have the resin bag but it's hard to imagine that working well in a hot yoga class when you're literally dripping so plan on that expenditure if you're getting this mat. I think this mat is better than the mats you can get at Target, etc. and you really do get more for your money. It really feels like quality and I expect it to hold up well. At first I thought the length was too long but I have a feeling I'll never go back to a 68in mat. This mat is also relatively lightweight as compared to other high end mats. I wouldn't say it's light but it's much more manageable than the heavy mats and the stick of mat holds it together so you don't really need a strap if you dont want to invest more money in yoga accessories. Overall -highly recommended!

I needed a mat which would not only remain 'in place' but also one that would allow my feet to move smoothly (without sticking to the mat) when doing vinyasa (flow) yoga. This mat met both needs.
I do yoga in my garage on a concrete floor. I have tried many mats on many surfaces (including thick and thin rugs!)but none would stick to the floor and yet allow me to move my feet quickly in sun salutations and glide smoothly when moving in modified chaturangas! My best solution was a bamboo mat (cloth on one side)...which sticks like glue to the concrete floor...and this mat on top of the bamboo mat. (I tried a mysore cotton mat on top of the bamboo and it would have been fine except that it was not long enough. I would have needed either a shorter bamboo mat or a longer mysore cotton mat. The solace mat works well because it is cotton on one side...for easy flow movements...yet sticks to the bamboo on the other side. Therefore, it can be shorter than the bamboo mat.)
I love this combination so much that I got a 2nd bamboo mat (for a total space of 6'x8') and use 2 of the solace mats on top of the bamboo. This allows me ample room for reclining twists and even roll-overs (when I am experimenting on my own or when doing yin yoga)!
